Questions to Expect an Interior Designer to Ask

Ask Away

Some of the questions we, as an interior design firm, like to ask our clients are how do you want to use your space, what is your goal with the remodel, and what is your finished product- do you want it to be low maintenance, or do you want high-end materials like marbles? Those sorts of questions are very important in order to start out that design process so that you can make sure you’re steering the design conversation in the right way.

If we have a family that comes in and they want low maintenance for their design, we don’t want to be suggesting things like marble floors because they require to be sealed and you’ve got to clean them regularly with specific cleaners. If you want low maintenance, you probably want more of a porcelain tile for your floor; a wood-look porcelain would be a great option.

  1. How do you want to use this space?
  2. What is your goal with the remodel?
  3. Do you want your finished product to be low maintenance, or do you want high-end materials?
