Hourglass Lakes Bathroom Remodel

Two bathrooms in this Venice home in Hourglass Lakes now have two very different designs. They could fool anyone thinking they were from two different homes altogether. On one end of the house is a moody, inky space with a golden Zen atmosphere. The other end is a fresh and shimmering coastal spa with seashell accents scattered throughout.

This two-bedroom and two-bathroom single-family Venice home was previously built in the early 1980s. The master bath originally had a shower with a sliding glass door and a wall-length mirror overlooking a countertop with two sinks. This outdated look was washed away and replaced with a coastal bathroom with a new glass door, a bigger storage area, a shower bench, a cabinet in between the two sinks, and a beautiful waterfall accent on the shower wall.

The guest bath had a walk-in tub that we replaced with a cleaner, sleeker walk-in shower with a single pane of glass serving as the partition to the rest of the bathroom.

The first thing you see when you walk into the master bath is a clear view of a feature stripe waterfall on the back wall of the shower. This standout tile matches the tile in the niche right beside it and is encompassed in a wavy marble mosaic along the bench wall. The shower also features body jets, a floating shower bench, and porcelain walls. The shower floor is a mosaic version of the Antalya Gray main floor.

The vanity and cabinetry are Medallion Cabinetry with a white Magnolia finish, and seashell-inspired specialty glass vessel sinks will bookend a floating cabinet above the White Lightning quartz countertop. The cotton bidet has automatic lid opening and flushing functions, an air deodorizer, a heated seat, and a nightlight. Pearly White is the paint of the interior here. The focal point of the space is a print of a mural called Seashells Washed Ashore.

The coastal design of this Venice home’s master bath sifts away as we cross the home over to the guest bath. This design is completely different. Black is the reigning color here. Matte black appliances, a cashmere toilet, Medallion cabinetry with a Black Carriage finish, a black quartz countertop, and tiles called Black Eternity shimmer together to create a Zen paradise.

Finally, the old jacuzzi walk-in tub became a sleek walk-in shower with porcelain walls and a lime rock herringbone floor. Behind the mirror and medicine cabinet over the sink is an accent wall of split-faced tile. The big eye-catcher here is the floor-to-ceiling wallpaper print mural of the Golden Buddha that seems to smile overt his beautiful bathroom design.
