Lido Key Kitchen Remodel

Their kitchen didn’t quite match the rest of the sophisticated interior. With stone-like ceramic throughout, Gulfside views from the spacious great room, and custom walk-in closets for him and her, the homeowners realized their kitchen in this Orchid Beach Club condo on the tip of Lido Key desperately needed a modern upgrade to match.

The chef’s kitchen originally had a tiny center island for prep, granite counters, an eat-at bar, custom cabinetry, and an adjoining breakfast nook. The light brown cabinets became Elmwood Custom Cabinetry with a Maranello door style and satin white finish and are a bit bigger than they were before. We installed the cabinets in the same footprint as this was an updating in place project.

The black granite countertops are now Britannica Quartz, a creamy marbled background of neutral white, and run up the wall from the countertops to the bottom of the upper cabinets as the backsplash as well. We also book-matched the veining in the quartz from countertop to wall.

We removed the soffit lights from above the cabinets and patched up the ceiling above the peninsula where a chandelier originally hung. We also demoed the end of the knee wall leading into the breakfast area for a bigger entryway. The knee wall itself was cut down to allow for all counter-height countertops.

Finishing touches include moving the microwave to the island, under cabinet lighting, and a new hood. With the lighter and sleeker finishes, this kitchen remodel is a recipe for success for a space just as sophisticated and contemporary as the rest.
