Anna Marie has spent years imagining what her dream home will look like. One of the most important key elements in designing her dream home is the location. Once you’ve determined the location, that helps you understand more about the exterior structure of that design. Anna Marie really looks at making a connection to that space not only through the exterior but the interior. That helps dictate the overall design.
Whether surrounded by nature or fortunate to have a water view, Anna Marie loves the concept of bringing the outside inside. You can accomplish this using lots of glass. Since we live in such a warm climate here in Florida, there are many unique ways of using disappearing glass sliders. It really makes you feel as though you’re living outside.
Clean lines are one of Anna Marie’s favorite design elements. She also isn’t a fan of a two-story home, especially as we are all faced with the inevitable of getting older. She loves paying close attention to those details with large open spaces. And then also making it timeless and creating a design of timelessness, again going back to those clean line elements. But then at the same time not being afraid to use the materials that you love even if those materials are trending now and maybe not in the future. Some materials Anna Marie loves are textured walls and lighting. They can, however, always be changed out later like textured walls and the lighting that must be on a dimmer to control the light in the space.
